Lyme Disease Boulder, Co

Undoubtedly, many of us have been bitten by a tick at one point in our lives or another. If you played outside as a kid on the east or the west coast, this could be you. It could have been when you were very young or it could have happened in your adult life. Often, patients will tell a story of a recent immune or physical challenge that precedes the onset of symptoms for Lyme.

There has been so much attention on Lyme Disease recently, which highlights not only the incidence is greater than we think but also, that there are solutions and answers for those suffering that may have been hard to access before now.

Testing has proven to be an obstacle in the detection of Lyme Disease and is a factor in delayed diagnosis for many patients. Tests ordered via conventional medical clinics are often ill-interpreted or not the most sensitive tests available. Our providers use a combination of testing methods to assess infection with Lyme. Antibody testing, DNA testing, and serum blood testing can all be employed to determine one’s Lyme status.  Interpretation of test results are key to being able to accurately assess a patient’s Lyme diagnosis.

Practitioners are becoming increasingly aware of and skilled at addressing Lyme disease and its co-infections.  At Holistica Integrative Care, we have been addressing this chronic infection for over 8 years. Because an integrative approach is important to treating Lyme, it is critical to consider all of the factors that create a successful treatment plan.

Each patient’s presentation of Lyme Disease is completely unique. There are of course similarities with clinical presentation of Lyme, but each patient has a different response to treatment, has a different set of symptoms, and requires a different duration and intensity of treatment. The features that are similar for all Lyme patients is that they require:

  1. Anti-microbial approach tailored for each patient and their unique needs
  2. Aggressive detoxification support
  3. Intensive immune support

Each patient will also require targeted interventions for specific Lyme-related symptoms. For example, if a patient has severe and persistent migraine headaches from Lyme, there will be strategies employed to address that symptom.

At Holistica Integrative Care we use the following modalities to address Acute and Chronic Lyme  Disease:

  • Detoxification support for liver, kidney, lymph, bowel and skin elimination of toxins
  • Immune support to allow one’s immune system to be able to tolerate the anti-microbials
  • Low Dose Immunotherapy (LDI) individualized for the patient’s co-infections
  • IV therapy support
  • Anti-Microbial support in the form of herbal remedies, homeopathics, and antibiotics

Many patients have gathered the belief that antibiotics are absolutely necessary for the treatment of Lyme Disease. While some patients might benefit from this approach, we use an aggressive integrative approach using botanicals, homeopathics, IV therapies, detoxification strategies, immune support, and low dose immunotherapy. Patients often use antibiotic therapy for the treatment of Lyme along with integrative therapies.

Regardless if Lyme Disease is a new diagnosis or one you’ve been struggling with for many years, you can be assured that we will employ a wholistic approach to your treatment and support you fully along the way.
