It can be difficult to honor our own feelings. What will others think of us? Shouldn’t we put others’ needs before our own? Isn’t that selfish? Mike Robbins believes we shortchange ourselves and others when we’re not true to our feelings, and offers some advice. The first step is to be honest about your feelings, even if it’s uncomfortable. Don’t judge yourself. Let yourself experience all your feelings, even the “bad” ones such as anger, hurt, and fear. Letting go of your story can take away the drama, and turning to others for emotional support is essential to this process.
