Foods that contain probiotic bacteria are helpful for maintaining digestive health. Probiotics help with maintaining the “good” bacteria in your gut, which allows your body to break down food into nutrients. Fermented foods, such as miso, sauerkraut, and kimchi are good sources of probiotics.

Kombucha is a drink made by fermenting black tea and sugar, and has been gaining popularity lately. It contains probiotics and enzymes. It even has the potential for healing the gut from such problems as stomach ulcers.

Digestive Health Food #5:  Sprouts

Sprouts such as flax, hemp and chia contain a lot of fiber, which helps keep everything moving smoothly in the bowels. They can also aide in protecting the stomach lining and lessen inflammation.
